The main riad serves as the central hub of the property. The ground floor features a fully operational restaurant capable of accommodating up to fifty guests. Supported by a professional-grade kitchen and a café service area, this level has been designed to provide an efficient and welcoming dining experience.

Additional facilities include five communal unisex restrooms, a retail space with direct street access currently utilized for beverage storage, and a mezzanine area dedicated to housekeeping supplies, linens, archives, and administrative functions.

Ascending to the accommodation level, guests discover four beautifully appointed rooms. Each room benefits from air conditioning, a private bathroom, and carefully preserved traditional architectural features that reflect the building’s historic origins. The combination of heritage elements and modern conveniences creates an atmosphere that is both authentic and comfortable.

A supplementary bathroom serves the common areas of this floor.

Above, the rooftop level offers an extraordinary setting that distinguishes the property from many others within the medina. Multiple terraces and seating areas unfold across several levels, creating unique vantage points overlooking the city’s whitewashed rooftops and the mountain landscape beyond.

The history of the property is deeply intertwined with the story of Tetouan itself. Originally constructed around the early nineteenth century, the riad served as a prestigious private residence before becoming the home of Grand Vizier Sidi Abdelkrim El Haddad.

In 1945, a significant architectural intervention reshaped portions of the building. Courtyard columns were removed and replaced with iron support beams, creating a larger central gathering space. During the same renovation, decorative ceramic tiles from Seville—presented by the Spanish government—were incorporated into the property, strengthening its distinctive Andalusian-Moroccan identity.

Historically, the main building hosted official receptions and ceremonial functions, while the secondary riad served as the family residence. Although distinct in purpose, the two structures have remained connected throughout their history, ultimately evolving into the integrated property seen today.
